Back-to-School TLC for Moms

by Paula

Even if your little ones aren’t in school yet, fall is still a time when many families reset their schedules from summer’s long days to the start of the cooler months. And while their kids may be picking out new lunchboxes for day care or new school supplies for class, shouldn’t moms get to refresh themselves a little for fall, too? Here are some quick, affordable ways you can treat yourself and start the season fresh:

Focus on your feet. Taking half an hour to soak your feet and put on a fresh coat of polish is relaxing and can lift your spirits for days. Why not try one of the new fall-friendly color trends like purples, grays and beige?

Curl up. As soon as your kids are in bed, try hitting the sheets yourself with a cup of tea and a good book, or a magazine to catch up on the latest fall fashion trends.

Try a facial. A good facial can scrub away the grime that having kids leaves behind, and you don’t need to spend a fortune at the spa or drugstore to do it. In fact, many items moms commonly keep in their pantries or refrigerators make great moisturizers and exfoliators, including eggs, honey, baking soda and oatmeal. Try checking online for recipes for homemade facial masks.

Buy blooms. Treating yourself to a bouquet of fresh flowers when you’re buying groceries will brighten up both your home and your mood.

Get a haircut. Not only will someone take care of you for thirty minutes, a new hairstyle (or even just a nice trim) can boost your confidence and remind why it’s important to take some time for yourself.
