Simple Ways to Keep up with Housework

by Paula

When you have little ones, the messes can pile up all day long. There’s a reason experienced moms say that cleaning your house when you have kids is like shoveling your driveway when it’s still snowing! But there are some tricks smart moms use to stay on top of daily dirt until they have time for a real cleaning. Try some of these quick and simple tips to keep your home looking its best:

Clean as you go. Many moms find that if they take a minute or two to make the beds first thing in the morning or wipe the counters as soon as the meal is over, nothing piles up and it all seems manageable.

Stash supplies. Stash antibacterial wipes in kitchen and bathrooms so you can just do a quick swipe when you’re in there.

Baskets or bins. Many moms find that baskets and bins are the key to keeping clutter under control. Even the littlest kids can haul toys over to a basket and drop them in.

Get help from your child. Many toddlers can (and love to!) match socks, slide a feather duster around or pull up sheets to help you make the bed.

Make scents. Using light and crisp-scented cleaners, candles and air fresheners can give your whole home a clean feeling, even if it’s been awhile since you last scrubbed.
