It’s hard to believe how much dirty laundry a little baby can make; and when you add in the rest of the family, the task can seem huge. To help keep the laundry from taking over your life, try some of these tricks that work for other busy moms:
Collect it where it counts. Hampers in the bedrooms are great if that’s where your family’s dirty laundry collects. But some moms find it’s more convenient to place them in other spots, like near a changing table or in the bathroom.
Separate as you go. An extra basket or bin lets you divide whites and colors as they collect, so you can skip that step when you’re getting ready to wash.
Keep up with it daily. For some moms, doing smaller, regular loads is easier to manage than letting bigger stacks of laundry pile up, which can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Involve the family. Laundry is one chore that many moms ask the whole family to help out with, from separating to folding to putting away. Even toddlers can help match socks or put their own laundry away if you place pictures of which clothing items go in which drawer.
