A little outside socialization with other grown-ups (and without your little ones) is good for every mom, but finding the free time and affordable options can be tricky. If you’re looking for easy ways to meet other moms, try some of these convenient groups and places:
Book clubs. Lots of moms meet up at their local library or book store to discuss the latest must-reads and have a little “momversation” as well.
Fitness Center. Why not make new friends and get back into shape at the same time? Lots of moms connect at their local YMCA or gym, many of which offer affordable child care.
Plan a girls’ night. Mom time doesn’t have to be a big night out, although that can be fun, too. Some moms like to meet up with others from the neighborhood or their older child’s school for a casual gathering at home or a local coffee shop.
Join a mom’s group. Organizations like Mothers of Preschoolers and Moms Offering Moms Support have lots of activities for you to do with your baby, but they often sponsor mom-only events, too. Many moms find that groups like these have lots to offer themselves as well as their babies.
Hit the Web. If you just can’t get out of the house, try joining an online community of other moms so you have a place to go to share stories and get helpful information and advice. It’s free and couldn’t be more convenient.
