When you’re feeding your newborn, it’s not unusual for your older child to feel a little jealous, especially in those first few weeks. Some moms find they can make that time special for both children by putting together a special basket of books and toys that your older child can only play with when the baby is feeding. That way you can hold the baby close and still play a game or read with your firstborn. Don’t forget that many siblings like to help, too. Giving them small responsibilities like asking them to get you a pillow or a bib so you can feed the baby helps them feel included and connected.
